Safety
RFYFA is committed to providing a positive, healthy, and safe environment. Here a few of the ways we ensure the safety of our players, coaches, and volunteers.
Background Checks
RFYFA Coaches are required to pass a background check. Our background check covers:
- National Criminal Search
- Sex Offender Search
- SSN Trace
- Global Watch List

Safe Sport / Concussions
RFYFA Coaches are required to attend and pass safe sport (emotional, physical, and sexual abuse awareness/reporting) and concussion training every twelve (12) months.
Equipment / Warm-Ups / Weather
RFYFA requres it's players to wear proper mouth guards when on the playing field (practice and game).
Coaches are provided warm-up routines and are encouaged to strech out and warm up the players prior to practices and games to help avoid injury.
WEATHER
Games are held August through October. The Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable, so plan your attire accordingly.
One day you're in the sweltering heat, on another your shoes are wet from morning dew, and then you're enjoying crisp cool fall air.
RFYFA follows Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) guidelines found at https://www.wiaawi.org/Health/Lightning
The board will notify coaches when storms are forecasted via TeamSnap. Cancelation of practices/games will be dependent on the severity of the storm and amount of rain to avoid damaging the Meyer Middle School fields. If rain is light, coaches will be given discretion on if they would like to hold practices as scheduled. In regards to lightning, see link above.
